48days Innovate Conference update

I put a lot of emphasis on personal development.  In order to continually grow, I make it a priority to read up on trends, listen to industry podcasts and attend conferences.  One such conference that I’ve been wanting to go to for a while is The Innovate conference in Franklin, TN.

This conference is put on several times each year by Dan Miller.  He’s a New York Times Best Selling Author, and one of my mentors.  Not only is he an accomplished author, speaker and content provider, he’s also one of the best at seeing business opportunities.  I love his podcasts, blogs and newsletters which don’t focus on “either/or” solutions, but “both/and” solutions.  Dan does an amazing job at finding multiple solutions and opportunities for creating income.  He has been an inspiration to me for the past 6 years.

The Innovate conference was for authors, speakers, entrepreneurs and those seeking to generate income from their skills and passions.  While a blog post isn’t the right format for me to post everything I learned, I do HIGHLY recommend going, and I learned a LOT.  This event was sold out for a while and the group was kept to only 60 people.

Michael HyattMichael Hyatt

Michael Hyatt is one of my favorite podcasters and bloggers.  He has been an inspiration to me through his podcasts, which I have listened to every week since he launched his podcast.  I’ve also great enjoyed his book, Platform, about how to build a platform using social media, blogging, video and media.  It’s something that I share with clients, friends and whenever I speak.  Meeting Michael was amazing.  I’ve been following for a while and he is genuine and gracious even though he constantly has people asking for his time, thoughts and attention.  He is a role model and someone who mentors me through his content.

Chad Jeffers

We were able to Skype with Chad Jeffers, who was on tour in Texas.  Chad is one of the guitarists for Carrie Underwood.  He had some great advice on creating residual income and using technology to leverage yourself.  Below is a photo of us talking to him via Skype.
